Franklin Vrede is an Adjunct Professor of Leadership and Organisational Behaviour at INSEAD. His expertise spans strategic leadership, board effectiveness, C-suite transitions, and the evolving role of leaders in driving organizational performance.

Prior to his academic career, Professor Vrede held leadership positions at Royal Dutch Shell, Cisco Systems, ATOS, and ABN-AMRO Bank. He also serves as a coach for C-suite leaders, helping senior executives navigate the shift from operational management to strategic stewardship.

At Matena, Professor Vrede has joined the adjunct faculty of the EMBA program. He will focus on strategic leadership and how the role of a leader fundamentally transforms within the strategic management process, shifting from directing day to day operations to shaping vision, aligning organizations, and making decisions in conditions of uncertainty.
